Three Palestinians were injured this evening in a terror attack carried out by Israeli settlers in the village of Duma, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank.

The attack, which took place under the cover and protection of Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), also resulted in the burning of two animal farms and three cars.

The head of Duma's village council, Suleiman Dawabsheh, told WAFA that around 300 Israeli settlers invaded the western side of the village, setting livestock farms on fire and wrecking cars.

Local inhabitants managed to repel the settlers, resulting in confrontations in which three Palestinian civilians were shot with live and rubber-coated steel bullets.

Dawabsheh explained that Palestinian Civil Defense volunteer teams managed to douse the flames, noting that the attack coincided with the Israeli military and police setting up a roadblock at the village's entrance.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, the victims' injuries included a 35-year-old male wounded in the foot with live ammunition, a 45-year-old man hurt by shrapnel in the eye and hand, and a 17-year-old hit in the eye with a rubber-coated bullet. All three victims were taken to the hospital for medical care.

Concurrently with the attack, the IOF raided the village and joined in repressing the people, injuring two Palestinians with rubber bullets during the ensuing confrontations.

In a related context, a WAFA journalist reported that settlers, protected by the IOF, assaulted people who were visiting Ain al-Auja in Areeha on the third day of Eid al-Fitr, attacking them with pepper spray and physically assaulting others, resulting in injuries and burns of varying severity to four citizens.

In addition, the attackers brought a herd of sheep with them and released them to graze in the area in an effort to force the visitors out.

Settlers have often attacked Ain al-Auja, establishing multiple settler outposts in the surrounding region in recent years in an attempt to seize control of the area's land and water resources while preventing native Palestinians from accessing them.
